Privacy Policy

Accounts & authentication

Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. By default every visitor gets an anonymous device session— no name, email, or personal identifier, just a per-device account id so your listening can be saved. If you choose "Sign in with Google," we receive your Google account's name, email address, and avatar to identify you across devices.

Listening & usage data

To power features like history, playlists, your passport, and recommendations, we store in Google Firestore, tied to your account id:

• plays — which tracks you played, listen duration, completion, and skips;
• playlists, liked tracks, and preferences (e.g. muted artists, crossfade);
• achievements, stamps, levels, and streak data.

We also keep an aggregate, non-personal global play count per track to power charts and to balance recommendations. It is not linked to any individual.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless service that measures aggregate traffic and a few product events (such as a first play). It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not build an advertising profile of you.

On-device storage

We use a service worker and local storage to cache the app for speed/offline shell and to remember small preferences (like whether you've completed onboarding). This data stays on your device.

How we use data

• to run the features you use and keep your account working across devices;
• to personalize recommendations from your own listening;
• to understand aggregate usage and improve the catalog and the product.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the processors that run the service on our behalf — Google (Firebase Auth and Firestore) and Plausible (aggregate analytics) — or where required by law.

Retention & deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time by emailing privacy@taksym.com. Anonymous device sessions hold no personal identifiers and are tied only to the device.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, contact privacy@taksym.com.

Children

Taksym is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

International transfers & changes

Our providers may process data in other countries with appropriate safeguards. We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
